Umeyo Katahira, 92, of Hilo died Sept. 26 at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a retired seamstress with the former Kamehameha Garments and later retired from Sky Chef and was a member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Hilo Hongwanji Buddhist Women’s Association, Hiroshima Kenjin Kai and the Nohea Kumiai.
